Common Sense

If my readers are the spitting image of me, I have done nothing but clone myself (and less of me in the world is probably a good thing, in more ways than one.)

If my readers think exactly like me, I might as well get out my e-reader and program their thoughts into mine. Then we could make a big merry-go-round of my thoughts into their thoughts and then their thoughts back into mine. My thoughts will be their thoughts. No, wait, I think God had something to say about that. Oops.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9, KJV)

Thinking improves when readers find it controversial, call each other on it and discuss it with ‘unlike-minded’ friends around the office water cooler.

Prayer-Father God, please stir our minds into common sense thinking that leads to common sense behavior. In Christ. Amen.
