Conspiracy Theories

Some people don’t believe there was a holocaust or that the American presidents murdered in office were killed by the people who were arrested and punished.  Others place wild imaginary blame on our current leaders for one thing or another. According to a few, our teachers are planning secret ways to poison our children. New translations of the Bible are meant to lead us astray. Weather troubles occur because of some mad scientist hiding in a third world country somewhere. Really?

The Bible is full of conspiracy theories. Some of them were real. Some were not.  For instance notice how the chief priests and the Pharisees got it all wrong.

“What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many signs. If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our temple and our nation.”  (John 11:47-48, NIV)

Prayer: Lord, help us concentrate on and follow you, not wild imaginations of the world.  In Christ. Amen.
