We Canadians plod on doing the right thing around the world, and hardly anyone pays attention. Today is Remembrance Day, and I want to remember.
Almost 10% of our population fought in World War One, and more than 60,000 died in it.
.
In the Second World War Canada protected almost half of the Atlantic. Our troops participated where many other countries did not go. War movies ignore our country’s history and sometimes even claim ours for their own.
It is said that we are about 1% of the world’s population, yet supply more than 10% of peacekeeping forces in multiple countries around the world.
As I said earlier; today is Remembrance Day, and I want to remember. I hope you will too.
Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember? (Mark 8:18, NIV)
Prayer- Lord, some days we hardly remember your Son who died for us, let alone those who fought for our freedom on earth. Forgive us. Amen.
