Death Crawl

Have you watched the death crawl scene from the movie “Facing the Giants?” I hope you take the time to search for it online. It is not as scary as it sounds. It’s about a football team and a coach who shows his players that they have more in them than they realize.

When they don’t keep their eye on what they have done, but instead, keep going even when they can’t see where they are going, they accomplish way more than they thought they could.

Sometimes that is us. If we look at what we are capable of doing it’s no challenge, but when we trust God to take us farther then we ever thought he does just that.

Endurance is the key. When God calls us to do something beyond our own experience, we can and do great things for him.

So when we are called out of our comfort zone into places we never thought to go, all we have to do is keep our eyes on him and trust he will take us farther than we ever thought we could go.

I call on us, one and all, to do the death crawl for Jesus because no matter what he asks us to do, he will get us there.

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. (Hebrews 12:2, NLT)

Prayer- God, give us the courage to move forward in the direction you pointed us. Amen.
