Do Nothings

There are lots of people who do big things in the church. Sometimes I feel like a failure because I used to be so active there. I was on almost every committee, I taught, I babysat. I did almost everything but sing. (Oops, I remember I did do that once…only once! No one asked again!)

But now I do other things and yes so do you.

You tell people about Jesus; you sing, teach, organize and welcome folks.

You show up, smile, and cry with. You listen and wash dishes. You usher, paint, fix stuff, run sound systems, or bake cookies, answer phones, sit with, and more.

But mostly we pray because wherever we are, we can pray…

But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!
(Jude 1:20-21, MSG)

In these uncertain times it is the best thing we can do…Pray.

Prayer- Father,, hear us we cry out and pray the wants and needs of the world into your ear. Amen.
