An online search reveals the most popular foods in Canada, apparently written by a definitely non- Canadian.
Here is that quite laughable list.
- Yellow Pea Soup eaten by settlers; –we settled centuries ago and have moved far from this!
- Poutine – French fries topped with cheese curds and gravy; (too many calories!)
- Montreal style bagels- delicious but hundreds of miles from most of the people living here.
- Pemmican- ground dried meat with fat and berries; (Seriously? A native dish is mostly known to be used in the early 1700-1800’s by explorers who had access to nothing better. We actually have canned food, freezers and access to fresh food all year round now.)
I guess the lesson is to be careful what you read and what you believe. Some things are downright wrong.
Thankfully we can trust the bible for all its worth in clarity, truth, and honor.
“Don’t suppose for a minute that I have come to demolish the Scriptures—either God’s Law or the Prophets. I’m not here to demolish but to complete. I am going to put it all together, pull it all together in a vast panorama. God’s Law is more real and lasting than the stars in the sky and the ground at your feet. Long after stars burn out and earth wears out, God’s Law will be alive and working. (Matthew 5:18, MSG)
Prayer- Father God, thank you that your word is enduring, never-ending and always truthful. Amen.
