No, don’t ask me to comment for sure on this because I do not know whether dogs go to heaven or not. I do know that I have loved the dogs that we had in our home. I don’t know what they were thinking but maybe this unknown author did.
Now I lay me down to sleep, the king-size bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the center groove, my human being can hardly move!
I’ve trapped her legs, she’s tucked in tight and here is where I pass the night
No one disturbs me or dares intrude till morning comes and I want food!
I sneak up slowly to begin my nibbles on my human’s chin.
She wakes up slowly and smiles and shouts, “You darling beast! Just cut it out!” But morning’s here and it’s time to play, I always seem to get my way.
So thank you, Lord, for giving me this human person that I see.
The one who hugs and holds me tight and shares her bed with me at night!
We have elevated our doggies way above this scripture.
“She answered, “even the dogs under the table eat the children’s leftovers!”(Mark 7:28, GN)
Now we pamper them, dress them and over feed them. Perhaps we should ask how much the dog likes any of that lifestyle which is so foreign to what it ever knew or expected.
Prayer- Thank you, Lord, for giving us pets to love us. However, may we never let that relationship replace the one we need with you. Amen.
