Door of Faith

Did you know that ‘qura’, meaning door is the root word of the word ‘shield?’  According to those who know, a door is a movable barrier used to open and close the entrance to a building, room, closet, or vehicle, usually a solid panel, hinged to or sliding in a frame.

Doesn’t that give Ephesians 6:16 a deeper meaning?

Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. (AMP)

That shield of faith is a door, and therefore a moveable barrier. Does our door of faith stand firmly open to God, His Son Jesus, the Holy Spirit and all their workings in our lives? Or is that door firmly closed to Who and What They Are and Want To Be in us??

Prayer: Father God, may our door of faith be always open to Your leading! Amen.
