The girl jumped right over the table and chair and flung herself into the arms of her teenage school mates. All five of them screamed, and then pointed in the general direction of the young fellow at the counter. Was he holding a gun or a snake?
After a full five minutes of this hysteria, one of the employees came out of the back, tissue in hand and squashed the small spider overhead. Aren’t those teens blessed to have faced nothing worse in their lives then a spider?
But if they do and if you are?
James 1:1-9-My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowingthat the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he isa double-minded man, unstable in all his ways (NKJV).
Sometimes we think we’ve met the biggest thing in our life ever. We tremble and shake and worry, only to discover that 1) God is there with us and 2) it will definitely not be our biggest thing ever.
Prayer: Lord, thank you, thank you , thank you for making joy possible in the midst of the all sized things of life. Amen.
