Dressed for Battle

I found this version of Ephesians 6 among my papers and it serves as a good reminder for all of us.

Before I even sit up in bed in the A.M….Lord I put on the girdle of truth and I chose to walk in your truth.

I add the breastplate of righteousness and I trust you to guard my emotions. I refuse to tolerate sin in my life today. Show me, remind me, guide me.

Next, I add the shoes of the Gospel of peace. They remind me to be at peace with you and remember that your promises are mine.

I lift my shield of faith. I believe that you mean what you say and that you can do what you say you can do, I believe you. That is my greatest strength.

Now the helmet of salvation. You promised this. You told me not to be afraid. You saved me and I am saved.

Are not two little sparrows sold for a copper coin? And yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered [for the Father is sovereign and has complete knowledge]. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. (Matthew 10:29-31, AMP)

And as always Lord, I pick up the sword of the spirit, the Word of God, your Word that is everlasting and ongoing and full of power. Your Word which you bring to my mind whenever I need it the most.

Take special note of any scriptures that speak to you about your circumstances. Read them. Memorize them. Repeat them when you especially need help. They are powerful. Use them.

Prayer- God whenever I think I can’t, your promises say differently. Remind us of their power and when to use them. Amen.
