On December 7, 2016, news folks made statements like this: “75 years ago today the event that changed the world – Pearl Harbour was attacked.” While I agree that was a startling event, we all have our own version of what is earth-shaking.
For me, March 2 was an earth-shaking event because I married my sweetheart on that date. You might remember your own special days and call them earthshaking. Perhaps it was the birth of a child or the day you got the best job ever. We all have special memories of things that changed our life.
There is one earthshaking event I hope we share. That is the day of our salvation, the day we decided to ask Jesus into our hearts. That day, we repented of our sin, asked his forgiveness, and believed that he died for us and rose from the dead for us so that we might have eternal life.
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. (Acts 4:31, NIV)
