Elderly Confusion

Beware, friends. It’s not always Alzheimer’s. Very often it is dehydration, uncontrolled diabetes, or a urinary infection. Remember those cowboy movies with the hero lost in the desert, yearning for water, and experiencing hallucinations? Yes, just like that.

If we have never trained our body to drink fluids, we drink even less as we age. We lose our taste for liquids and we literally dry out.

Liquids help keep our skin fine, our body working and our mind clear. Even foods like watermelon nourish our inner well.

The Bible is our spiritual liquid. 1Peter 2:2:2 actually calls it our spiritual milk! I’ve often quoted Hebrews 4:12-13 to you and here I go again.

God means what he says. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one can resist God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.

(From Hebrews 4:12-13, MSG)

Here are just a few results of drinking in God’s Word. It speaks of the Christ. It helps us understand our salvation. It makes us new from the inside out. It’s the bread of life! And as we take it in, it takes off our rough edges and equips us for the life in Christ.

Yes, we need physical and spiritual water. Imbibe freely of both today.
