Faith by Hearing

When the Emmaus disciples got their story all wrong, Jesus explained the truth through the scriptures.
And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. (Luke 24:27, NIV)

The Book of Romans wasn’t written yet but perhaps it is a version of what Jesus said on that Emmaus road.

Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: ……………
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (From Romans 10:5-13, NIV)

Jesus told those men and they in turn told the eleven and all those with them. (Luke 24:35)

And the Gospel spread because faith comes by hearing. Which one are you doing today?

Prayer – Father God, move from hearing to telling as you did the Emmaus two. Amen
