Here are some helpful instructions for those days of concentrated fasting. Our church elders do this a few times per year; the congregation is invited to join in. We fast as the Lord leads, a meal, a day, whatever.
We are invited to use the church and the hours are always listed. Then we are given specific things to pray on certain days.
Every day is different but prayer is requested for personal needs, local schools, hospitals, churches, and service workers like police and firemen. Of course we pray for families, salvations, our own church and staff. We also include the world, and specific areas of unrest.
The week concludes with a 24 hour prayer vigil followed by breakfast and a worship and healing service.
Maybe you can’t be part of a fast on this scale but you can fast on your own, giving that time to God.
Therefore also now, says the Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning [until every hindrance is removed and the broken fellowship is restored]. (Joel 2:12, AMP)
