Feelings

“Oh,” she fluttered, “I feel like God is telling me to stop going to church.”

What does the Bible say about that?” I asked.

“Oh, I haven’t bothered with that… I just have this feeling…”

And she was not the least bit grateful when I pointed out this verse. She’d already made her decision.

Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25, AMP)

If we call ourselves Christian, we ought to know what God has to say! That way, we won’t be deceived into wrong thoughts or actions. We’ll be able to have right thoughts and make right decisions. Feelings won’t be able to sway us anymore.

Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action). (2 Timothy 3:16, AMP)

Prayer – Lord, give us grace to take your Word above any feelings we may have. Amen
