Fraidy Cat

You might think I am a Fraidy cat when I tell you one of my go-to-verses…Isaiah 41:10. I often read it in several versions for each one provides a little added something.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10, NIV)

Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God.  I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you.    I’ll hold you steady; keep a firm grip on you. (MSG)

Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen  and  harden and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of righteousness  and justice. (Isaiah 41:10, AMP)

And then I pray, because I am a Fraidy cat and I freely admit it. Life overwhelms me on a regular basis and without God I am nothing. In fact, when I am in Fraidy cat condition, I am of no use to you, myself or even God. He knows it though and he comes along side me to help me live life in spite of my fears.

Are you a Fraidy cat too? Never fear. The Lord can turn you into a raging lion on his behalf!

Prayer- Lord you do give us strength and courage to face everything that comes upon us. We are grateful, for otherwise, we would live life in half measures. Amen.
