You can call anything ‘fresh’ that has not been preserved, aged or processed. That being said, would God consider us fresh Christians or have we been sitting on the sidelines too long?
Remember how excited we were when we first found the Saviour? Remember our gushing moments before friends and family?
It’s been a while and now our shining joy has dimmed and we linger in the stale section of our church pew.
Yes, friends, we are not alone in this!
Were we once on fire for the Lord but now are content to sit in the background and let others do all the work?
Are we happy to drift along, pretending to be ‘fresh’ but lackadaisical when it comes to leading others to Christ, tithing, or even obeying the Ten Commandments?
Oh-oh, perhaps we best consider where we came from, and how far we want to go with Christ and then do a little refreshing when it comes to our attitude and our actions.
After all, that’s where God is leading us.
He makes me lie down in fresh, tender green pastures. (Psalm 23:2a)
Get up your gumption for the Lord. You can because you used to. Fire up your Jesus tank and get going!
