Frost Quakes and Thunder Snow

Just when I thought I’d heard it all, I experienced frost quakes and thunder snow!  Frost quakes, also called cryoseism, and happen in the Great Lakes area when it is extremely cold. It is actually ice trying to expand and take up more room and so it makes a big boom noise.

As for thunder snow, it is a winter thunder storm with snow instead of rain.

The fascinating thing is that all of these things occur because of God, the God who created everything.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. … (Genesis 1:1, NIV)

And he will also do this if you let him.

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10, KJV)

Prayer- Father God, change me Lord, create a new heart in me and let the noise of that change in me reverberate among my family and friends, like frost quakes and thunder snow. Amen.
