Games People Play

John 21:25Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written (NIV).

I’m not much for shower games. (Dear gentlemen, you won’t likely know of which I speak but bear with me a moment.) At showers, generally bridal, many a hostess offers light entertainment by way of these mind-boggling activities. For instance, those present might be given a clothespin to place on the hem of their garment. Cross hands, feet, etc and expect a temporarily-crazed-with-upcoming-power lady to leap madly across the room to grab it. At the end of the day the one with the most pins wins. I always quickly eliminate myself from this furor by immediately crossing my legs. The rest of my day is peaceful as long as I am not sitting beside the woman determined to win.

Others play word scramble games. Even though I am a writer, my mind pales because I am hopeless at these too. Here is a thought. Would you like to try one? I’ll write a phrase below. Write out all the different words you can make of it. No matter the number of words we create, Christ will always be more than we can ever ask or think.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Our Personal Messiah

Prayer: Lord, show yourself to us in new ways. Amen.
