Several of the adults participated in a conversation about favorite cartoon characters. Gradually, one by one, they admitted to still watching their childhood favorites. While Thomas the Tank Engine ranked high on the list, Arthur, (my personal choice!) came in a close second.
Why do we watch these reruns when so many other options of violence and mayhem are available? Is it possible that we yearn for a time when every story had a happy ending?
God invites us to live just like that.
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them.And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:2-4, NIV)
So let’s watch our childhood favorites, reminded that God invites us to live like little children, no matter how old we get.
