Happy Daze

You have a peek ahead. Happy Daze is the title of my new Bible study, due out this fall. The sub title is L.I.F.E. after 40.

And its all about aging. In North America, we obsess about our looks. We spend a fortune trying to defeat wrinkles, illnesses, gray hair and baldness. In the end they come to us all.

The king of Israel obsessed with a single flea! (David)

King Solomon was obsessed with women.

The wicked are obsessed with putting the blame on God!

Some people are obsessed with feelings of doomsday.

Others are obsessed with lust.

And then we have this.

Woe to you who are rushing headlong to disaster! Catastrophe is just around the corner! 

Woe to those who live in luxury and expect everyone else to serve them! 

Woe to those who live only for today, indifferent to the fate of others! 

Woe to the playboys, the playgirls, who think life is a party held just for them! 

Woe to those addicted to feeling good—life without pain! 

Those obsessed with looking good—life without wrinkles! 

They could not care less about their country going to ruin. (Amos 6:3-6, MSG)

Prayer- Lord, steer our obsessions in a better way. We want to be obsessed with you. Amen.
