He never wrote a book or held a political office. He never owned a home, married, had a family. He never went to college or visited the big city. In fact he never traveled more than 200 miles from his birthplace.
He did nothing to denote greatness. People turned against him. He went to trial because of false witness. He died on the cross between two thieves. His murderers gambled on the one thing he owned, his cloak. He was buried in a borrowed grave.
Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”(Matthew 8:20, NIV)
Yet today, centuries later, Jesus Christ is the central figure of the world and the leader in the progress of the world. No one has affected human life more than this one solitary person, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. (John 21:25, NIV)
How has he affected your life? Only you can make the choice to let him do that.
Prayer- Lord we ask that you open our eyes and our hearts to what we can be in Christ. Amen.
