“Man is not what he thinks he is, he is what he hides.”
André Malraux
There you have your life’s work in one statement and the older you get the harder it is to keep your bad habits in check.
Perhaps it’s because we don’t care who we offend anymore.
The kids don’t like you spitting on the sidewalk? What do you care now? They never visit anymore.
The wife doesn’t like you complaining about her cooking, but now you just eat out.
The truth is folks, you can run but you can’t hide!
Oh yes, this is true. See what God says in Jeremiah.
“Can a man hide himself in hiding places so I do not see him?” declares the Lord. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 23:24, NRSV)
Who are you trying to kid? Are you a church goer, but not a God worshipper? Ha. He will route you out of your useless safety zone soon enough.
Prayer- God, we ask you to route out any falseness in us and prepare us for your eternal kingdom. Amen.
