Hygge

HUE-GAH: that’s how you pronounce the word “hygge”. It’s become very popular this year.
It’s a Danish term meaning the complete absence of anything annoying or emotionally over-whelming. It’s taking pleasure from the presence of gentle soothing things.

Doesn’t that sound great? How do we get there? It sounds like a good sleep to me, but apparently it is used as a selling ploy on everything from soft slippers to cosy blankets.

What selling ploy drags you in and makes you buy their products? Is it the price, the quality, the advertisement, the deal or the freedom of on-line shopping?

Under those conditions, God’s offer of salvation is a great offer. It’s free, of the best quality available, and he advertizes regularly through his Word and his people and you can purchase on line!

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:29, NIV)

Prayer – Dear gentle and soothing God, Thank you… Amen
