Mother’s day and we can’t visit? Well we sort of did here. The family stood out side my house and we waved and hollered through glass. They are there and I am here and we are ‘together.’
The truth is, folks that we missed lots of opportunities to visit many times in the past. Now because we can’t, we complain that it is a big deal.
Truthfully, how many times did you think about visiting family and then decided it was too much trouble. The kids wanted to do something more exciting. You were going on a cruise, or visiting the other laws and not yours.
Pick your excuse. Oh yes there were many, weren’t there?
And what will you do when this is over? Will you visit boring old grandma? Or will you morph into your original bad habit of ignoring?
Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. (Proverbs 10:17, NIV)
“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. (Exodus 20:12, NIV)
Prayer- Father we have many bad habits related to family relationships. When we have the chance to do better, remind us to do so; as would the Christ. Amen.
