I’ve just returned from another speaking tour, where I shared my personal story. I tell people the truth of my past and how Christ changed my present and my future forever. It’s tiring to make a journey like that, but I know from experience that God uses our personal transformation stories to change people’s hearts, so I do it.
There is an even longer journey ahead of us. You might not be familiar with it. That journey is the one where we meet people halfway. We forgive; we refuse to hold grudges.
But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matthew 6:15, NIV)
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. (Luke 6:37, NIV)
The trip might tire you out… but it is so worth it.
Prayer – Lord, I do not want to forgive _________________. But I love you and I want to do your will. So today, I ask your help. Give me the strength to make the journey into forgiveness. I forgive _________________________ for ________________________. Thanks God for the peace you give when I do what you ask. In Christ. Amen
