Just for Today by Dawn Baxter

Just for Today.

Morning glories, afternoon delights;

Evening sunsets, grateful for sights.

Loving families, caring friends,

Lovely neighbours, helping hands

Social distancing, virtual hugs

Video chats and heartstring tugs

As time stands still, patience presides.

We’ll get through this even more unified.

Most likely new normal, more challenges to defeat.

But we’re strong and able. We’ll be back on our feet.

But just for today, we will recover

By staying connected and loving one another.

This is an apt word of encouragement for all of us. When Dawn leaves a parcel at your door, it always comes with an encouraging note.

 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35, NIV)

Prayer- Lord, thank you for the heart connections we have. All of us suffer together, as I expect you are too. Amen.
