Knit and Sit

Our hospital volunteers decided to be proactive in the midst of cancer. They placed a basket full of knitting needles, patterns and donated yarns in the hospital waiting room and invited patients to knit a bit while they sat. Then they recruited volunteers to join the squares into colourful afghans. Now each patient receives their very own coverlet to carry back and forth to treatments.

This continues to be a massively successful project but it is made up of miniscule pieces, performed in small bits by hundreds of people. The world is waiting for you to do your little bit wherever you are, for together we make big things happen!

"And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” (Matthew 10:42, NIV)

Prayer-Lord, may we be like Dorcas in Acts 9:39 and use our talents to do/make things for others. For the Christ who made a way for us. Amen.
