Lessons from The Gospel Of John: Never Too Smart For Jesus

Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a member of the Jewish council. – John 3:1

Many enemies of Christianity have said that it is a religion of fools, the uneducated and losers. From the very beginning this has been proven to be untrue. Nicodemus was an educated ruler.  There have been many followers of Christ, both public and private, through out the millennia, who were bright and highly educated. It is true that many of the universities are and have been against religion in general, and Christianity in particular. Graduates of these universities often tend to follow the school’s teachings.

Nicodemus did not think himself too high or too smart to go to Jesus with his questions. We shouldn’t either. No question is too complex (or too simple) for Jesus’ attention. No human is too high (or too low) for Jesus’ compassion. Our Savior died for each and every one. He died for the illiterate and for those who hold multiple earned doctorates.

Wherever you are in life, you need to seek Jesus. You have questions even if you don’t think you do. You may think you know all the answers to what happens after this body dies, but you have never been there. Jesus has. As we will see Nicodemus didn’t have to voice his question, Jesus knew. All he had to do was to seek Him. Won't you seek Him today?
