When my husband was diagnosed with diabetes, we attended some class information sessions at a nearby hospital. I wanted to be sure that hubby understood the necessity of measuring, so I constantly quizzed the dietitian about level cupfuls or tablespoonfuls versus heaping ones.
Apparently this line of questioning annoyed many of the other participants. When the dietitian announced that a couple of dill pickles would be a daily serving, I asked if that would be small or large dills.
A sharp retort came from the back of the room. “Yes, indeed, do tell us if that would be a level or a heaping dill?”
Everyone laughed. The dietitian didn’t give an answer, but according to the Word of God… I think it would have been a level dill.
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. (Psalm 143:10, NIV)
Prayer – Lord, teach us to do your will… and lead us onto level ground. Thanks God. Amen
