Life Snuffing Events

Have you ever had a life-snuffing event?  We know not what great injuries the Lord has saved us from. Probably more than you know, for God saved you before the car racing along the side street took you out, or he turned a gunman in another direction. We only remember those that seemed to close for comfort.

I’ve had close calls when the driver ahead of me decided to make a U-turn or when the car slipped on ice as a train barrelled down the tracks at me. I remember them but  I don’t dwell on them. I hope you don’t either.

Light is sweet, and it pleases the eyes to see the sun. However many years a man may live, let him enjoy them all. But let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Everything to come is meaningless. (Ecclesiastes 11:7-8, NIV)

As God’s partners, we beg you not to accept this marvellous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.” Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:1-3, NLT)

Prayer- Thank you God for all the times you saved us from situations in the world around us. In Jesus’ name, we thank you. Amen.
