Limping

My husband was determined not to ‘waddle’ after his hip replacement. He asked me to correct him every time he limped. This went well for about a week. After the third correction of the day, he complained.

“Well, I can stop reminding you if you like,” I offered.

“No.” he replied.  “I want to walk straight. I’m just tired of trying right now.”

Needless to say, Ron worked on his steps repeatedly till he unconsciously walked wobble-free. This reminded me of our walk with God. He too prefers the straight walk.

This is God’s preference for all of us.

Be careful to do what the Lord your God commands you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. (Deuteronomy 5:32-33)

Technically, God did not use the word ‘waddle’ but I am convinced that that’s what he meant!

Practice under the care of the Holy Spirit and walk a bit straighter every day!
