Lions and Clowns

Q. What did the lion say after eating the clown?  A. That tasted funny!

Now I have a purpose with this. Hang on there! What do we do that makes us laugh, makes us happy, cheers us up?

In my salad green days, I used to think it was chocolate or ice cream. When hard times hit, I went there. Did it solve my issues? No. When I finished all that eating, I still was sad or depressed or whatever. Then of course, I also added guilt to my problems.

What is your go to? It may not be food, but it is something and it usually isn’t good for us. Pick from the following list and add any I missed!

Alcohol, drugs, overeating, undereating, personal physical harm, nail biting, hair chewing, breaking things, angry fits, speeding, assaulting others, bullying, stealing, inappropriate sex acts spending too much.

Just because I didn’t name yours, doesn’t mean you aren’t as guilty as the rest of us. Insert your problem into the following verses. The truth still applies.

Oh listen, dear child—become wise; point your life in the right direction. Don’t drink too much wine and get drunk; don’t eat too much food and get fat. Drunks and gluttons will end up on skid row, in a stupor and dressed in rags.

(Proverbs 23:19-21, MSG)
