Little Miss Muffet

Do you really understand this little poem?

Little Miss Muffet, sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey;

along came a spider, who sat down beside her and frightened Miss Muffet away.

Little Miss Muffet (maybe Mary Queen of Scots)

sat on a tuffet (a kind of bush- see"A Nievve Herball, or Historie of Plantes," by Rembert Dodoens & Henry Lyte, 1578. Pg. 225.)

eating her curds and whey (cottage cheese!)

Along came a spider (John Knox? Mary feared his prayers more than anything.)

who sat down beside her (praying, maybe?) and frightened Miss Muffet away.

Don’t stop reading parts of God’s word because it seems a little bit hard to understand. Rather, understand what you can, ask for help and study the rest.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7, NIV)

Prayer- Lord, help us understand your word. Amen.
