Making a Difference

This is a different kind of column today. This is a “cut this out and hang it on your refrigerator” kind of column. I found several verses that are about praying for our nation and serving God. It never hurts to be reminded of God’s sovereign plan for our lives and our nation. Hang it on your refrigerator and pray daily for our country. It will make a difference!

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He choose for His inheritance.” Psalm 33:12

It is “God who changes the times and seasons; He sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” Daniel 2:21

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians. 6:12

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” Psalm145:18

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2

“For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations.” Psalm 22:28

“The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.” Proverbs 21:1

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8

“They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.” Psalm 112:7

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9
