Manipulated

I confess that I used to be one of the best manipulators. I knew how to twist words, play on people’s emotions and influence others to get my own way.

When someone tries to trigger you by insulting you or by doing or saying something that irritates you, take a deep breath and switch off your ego. Remember that if you are easily offended, you are easily manipulated.

God changed that in me and I am forever grateful. If this is still you, see what God has to say about it.

When you manipulate words to get your own way, you go wrong. (From Matthew 5:37, MSG)

Don’t get bossy; if you’re put in charge, don’t manipulate. (From Romans 12:7, MSG)

We don’t maneuver and manipulate behind the scenes. And we don’t twist God’s Word to suit ourselves. Rather, we keep everything we do and say out in the open, so that those who want to can judge for themselves in the presence of God. (From 2 Corinthians 4:1-2, MSG)

Do you think I speak this strongly in order to manipulate crowds? Or curry favor with God? Or get popular applause? If my goal was popularity, I wouldn’t bother being Christ’s slave. (From Galatians 1:10-12, MSG)

Prayer- Lord God, we confess manipulation is one of our weaknesses. Help us live honest, above board lives for you. Amen.
