And one night the Lord said to Paul in a vision, Have no fear, but speak and do not keep silent; For I am with you, and no man shall assault you to harm you, for I have many people in this city. (Acts 18:9-10, AMP)
These verses remind me of Elijah after his big moment of calling down rain and outrunning Ahab. (See 1 Kings 18-19)
Elijah thought he was all alone and likely to be captured and killed.
And behold, there came a voice to him and said, what are you doing here, Elijah?
He said….. And I, I only, am left, and they seek my life, to destroy it.
And the Lord said to him, Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus………….. Yet I will leave myself 7,000 in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him. (From 1 Kings 19:13b-18, AMP)
Friends we are never alone. We might think we are the only one standing for Jesus but a multitude is with you.
Prayer- Dear Lord, give us the courage to stand firmly forever in the cause of Christ. Amen.
