March 20 is not Spring

Folks can cheer all they like about March 20- to be spring. NO! THEY ARE WRONG!

Since then, we’ve had two huge snow storms and an ice storm. Plows have been clearing roads. Tuckered out fellows clear the walkway-again and again and again.

We suffer through it endlessly until finally, some dear soul tells us about the first robin or daffodil that just popped up! What a relief.

It’s like the coming of Christ. We yearn. We check for signs. We proclaim that this event or that determines the coming of the Lord any time now. 

And again, we are wrong. It’s because this is what we are looking for.

Understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.  For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good,  treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,  having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

The problem is that life always seems like that.

Only God knows and we must be patient.

But of that exact day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son in His humanity, but the Father alone. (Matthew 24:36)
