Memory Banks

As we age, we become family memory banks. We recall stories of the family’s immigration to a new country, recite Aunt Suzie’s romance, and explain why two cousins don’t talk to each other.

And by far the most important memories are the ones about how we met God and asked Him to forgive our sins and come into our lives as our personal Saviour. Do you have that memory yet?

Don’t panic. Everyone can have a special place in God’s heart.  Today is your day.

I will be your God through all your lifetime, yes, even when your hair is white with age. I made you and I will care for you. I will carry you along and be your Savior. (Isaiah 46:4, TLB)

White hair is a crown of glory and is seen most among the godly.

(Oops – Did you know that coloring our hair costs about 2-3% of our income? Seventy to one hundred dollars a month slips through our hands for hair care. Try multiplying that over a lifetime and buy yourself a house instead!)

Why do we do it? Is it fear, or vanity? Is it the DAZE of peer pressure? Do we believe that only the young are attractive? Why don’t we embrace our current DAZE with grace?

You shall live a long, good life; like standing grain, not harvested until it’s time! (Job 5:26, TLB)

What is your state of mind? Are you stuck in your current DAZE?
