Messiah — Our Hope Is In You

Blessed Messiah, name above all names, blessed Redeemer, Emmanuel. These are words of acknowledgement and of comfort. All our hope is in you Lord, the light of the world, the bright and Morning Star.

“Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” Isaiah 60:3 (NIV)

Angels announced His birth, good tidings of joy.

“An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2 :9-11(NIV)

Jesus was the ultimate sacrificial lamb. The ransom for sinners.

“In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” Hebrews 9:22 (NIV)

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 (NIV)

Jesus is the only Way to God the Father.

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6 (NIV)

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.” 1 Peter 18:21 (NIV)

All our Hope is in Him.

Every once in a while, I'll be going about my business, running errands around town and come across, the sweetest, kindest people. They smile, wave at you, ask how you are and proceed to give you a little gift or token they want you to have. To be polite, I take their gift, thank them and then walk away in awe with a big smile on my face.

It definitely gives me something to think about. Why? Because in most cases, I have no idea who that person was, and the gift they gave me…….well, sometimes it's a piece of candy with a Scripture attached to it. Sometimes, it's a little silver cross with the words “ Jesus Loves You,” on it. The gift they give, is a gift from the heart to all who would receive it. Nine times out of ten, the people who do this on a daily basis are of meager means. I can take one look at them and know they do without so much, and yet they are so happy. They find such pleasure and contentment in sharing with others even if it means hardship or doing without. Most of these individuals amaze me at the great faith that whatever they might need, God will provide.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-9 (NIV)
