More on Money

Yesterday we spoke of trusting God to provide.

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. (Proverbs 3:9-10, NIV)

How do you think you will be provided for? God expects you to work for your income.

All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. (Proverbs 14:23, NIV)

Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow. (Proverbs 13:11, NIV)

And finally, while we are working and saving and giving…there is something even better than money

Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. (Proverbs 3:13-14, NIV)

And do you know where you find wisdom? In Christ!

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.(Colossians 2:2-3, NIV)

Prayer-Lord we’ve followed the topic of money all around in a circle, only to find what we already knew. Christ is our wisdom and he is way better than any moneys we might crave. Thank you, God. Amen.
