This verse was written in the front of the Gideon Bible in my hotel room.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
A little research brought up the information that it has been translated into more than 1100 languages.
It has been recorded in twenty-five of the most important world languages and understood by at least three quarters of the total population of the earth.
Why? It speaks of the one who loves us with an everlasting love.
To my great surprise, I even found it in my mom’s first language, Icelandic.
‘Því svo elskaði Guð heiminn að hann gaf einkason sinn til þess að hver sem á hann trúir glatist ekki heldur hafi eilíft líf. ‘(Jóhannesarguðspjall 3:16)
