Moving On

More than once, I’ve seen women buy outfits they really don’t care for but they buy because they need an outfit for some occasion. They spend a fortune, have the thing altered and still hate it. They wear it once and shove it into the back of their closet because guilt won/t let them give it away. Finally they donate it to a Mission Store in their area.

Why do we settle for less than best? Are we just tired, bored, short of time, lazy or determinedly disobedient?

Where in life are you settling for second best? That’s what Abram’s father did.

And Terah took Abram his son, Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together to go from Ur of the Chaldees into the land of Canaan; but when they came to Haran, they settled there. (Genesis 11:31, AMP)

Terah settled and never experienced the full life that followed for the rest of his family. Thankfully Abram took up the challenge and moved on. Don’t settle when with God’s help, you can be all he meant you to be.

Prayer- Oh God, I have settled for second best in ______________________ help me take up the path again and move on to __________________. Amen.
