Is that how you feel or are you overwhelmed with life? Is your schedule filled with obligations, problems? Are you overburdened and preoccupied with all your obligations? My plate is full is our way of saying I have a lot to handle right now.
Recently I told my daughter that her plate was too full and she replied with this statement.
“Ah mom, my plate is not full, it is portioned – but not controlled.”
We always have the option of clearing our plates, but God bless those who look after the worthwhile things of life.
When I did a word search on the term I came up with thoughts like this.
It takes a strong man to accept somebody else’s children and step up to the plate another man left on the table. (Ray Johnson)
My plate is full but my cup runneth over. Indeed it does.
True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction. I’m not afraid when you walk at my side. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing. (From Psalm 23, MSG)
Prayer- God we ask for wisdom to discern our plate-worthy items, for Christ. Amen.
