No Pooh for Carter

Carter loves Winnie the Pooh and as soon as he hits grandma’s house he heads for the ones stored in her room.

Then Grandma got a new Pooh, a Pooh that was bigger than two-year-old Carter.

Carter saw him and took off, screaming “No Pooh, No Pooh!” The sight of a Pooh bigger than he expected, bigger even then he was, shook him to the core and maybe threatened his previous love of Winnie the Pooh. He did not see this new giant Pooh as a blessing

That’s what happened to the Israelites.

The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. (Exodus 33:11, NIV)

But when Moses returned from these visits His face beamed and the others were afraid to come near him.

The Israelites…saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the Lord. (From Exodus 34:30-34)

Does an encounter with God terrify you? Do you cry out, “No God, No God?”

Or do you recognise the blessing you have been given to experience God in the full??

Prayer- Father God, give us the courage to experience you in your fulness and revel in you. Amen.
