Malachi 3:10– “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house and test me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows (NASB).
Exodus 35:21– They came, each one whose heart stirred him up and whose spirit made him willing, and brought the Lord’s offering to be used for the (new) tent of meeting, for all itsservice and the holy garments(AMP).
No Stewing Necessary
We’ve always given ten percent. It seemed a small detail.
We rounded up the numbers so our giving wasn’t stale.
But then the church was building, all were asked to do their bit.
The number God gave Dear and I caused us to have a fit!
It really would be miracle. There’s no way that we could do it.
We could trust God for the bucks or huff and puff and stew it.
Well, now, we refer to the date we signed that ‘giving debt’,
As one great blessing in our lives, for God our need has met.
Never once since we began, have we suffered fail or doubt,
For God in all his mercy, is working it all out.
Prayer: What new tent of meeting is in our territory, Lord? Help us discern true need. Unzip the pocket book of our minds as we reach into our wallets. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
