Ok Then

Again and again in the movies and unfortunately in life, I hear this comment. “It will be okay- everything is ok.”

The world offers this platitude in the midst of lost loves, death, disease and hurricanes.

Some say we started ok-ing everything around 1838, when a newspaper, on a whim, shortened the phrase ‘all correct’ from ac for all correct to oll korrect or O.K. (Word Myths: Debunking Linguistic Urban Legends, by David Wilton)

I know, it makes absolutely no sense to me either. One thing I do know about being a Jesus follower though… Everything will be O.K. in the end and if it isn’t, it is because it is not the end.

That’s how life is…generally it makes no sense at all, until we remember that God has a very satisfactory plan and it is working out just as he expects…ok then.

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.(Philippians 2:12-13, NIV)

Prayer- God, since you have everything in hand then we agree with you and call our life and your work in it…O.K., expecting all will be well in the end. Amen.
