Out of Sight, Out of Mind

Tucked all the Christmas decorations away by now, I presume? Yes, me too. Even the Nativity scene is safely wrapped and stored in a safe place till next year. Then we will haul it out for its yearly visit. Two weeks is hardly a good holiday, let alone enough time to form a relationship.

Hopefully, that is not how we treat Jesus. Two weeks out of fifty-two leaves a lot of space for wrong doing, unfaithfulness and outright sin. We should never live by the motto, out of sight, out of mind. That implies that if we don’t see someone for a while, the relationship grows stale.

So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”(Luke 17:10, NIV)

Prayer – Jesus, don’t let us forget who you are and what you mean to us. Amen
