Overheard

“I found it.”
“Did you lose it?”
“No, I just didn’t know where it was.”
“Where did you find it?”
“It was on the bathroom shelf in the green bowl.”
“I knew it was there.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t know you were looking for it.”

The same thing happened in Luke 15:8-9, NIV.

“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’

The neighbours didn’t know the woman was looking for those coins but when she found them everyone was happy about it.

Whether we realize it or not, everyone is looking for Jesus and we are the ones who know where he is. How tragic if we don’t care enough to tell them where they can find him too.

Prayer – Lord, give us the courage to tell someone where they can find Jesus …because we know only because someone took the time to tell us. Amen
