I finally tucked away all my Christmas decorations…well actually it was more like…stuffed them away. I love Christmas and I even collect miniature nativity scenes. Still they all take up room, no matter how small.
Christ is more than a nativity scene. I keep one of my most cherished ones out all year, because I need to be reminded every day that through Christ I am a different, better, kinder, nicer person.
How much of your heart does God have control of at the moment? What thoughts are you having about what and where and who?
Do you tuck Jesus away after December 25th? Maybe you don’t have a figurine on your mantle, but do you have a clear picture of your new life with him?
Don’t live by the motto, out of sight, out of mind. That implies that if we don’t see someone for a while, the relationship grows stale.
So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”(Luke 17:10, NIV)
Prayer-God, no matter our mantle decorations, please keep us close to Christ. Amen.
